About the setting

Our After School Club at St Jude’s C of E Junior School was established in September 2008. We care for children aged 4 to 11 years from St Jude’s CofE Junior School and St Cuthbert’s Catholic School, both in Englefield Green.

Operation Times

The club opens for business at 3:15pm. St Cuthbert’s children are collected from school by a member of The Gap Club team at 3:25pm and are safely walked over to St Jude’s School. The club offers two collection times for parents and carers at 5:30pm and 6:30pm.

Space and Environment

Our registration area and central play space is based in the year 4 block of the main school building, we also have use of the school hall. In addition to this, children have access to the entire outdoor environment.

Provision

St Jude’s After School Club creates a stimulating and challenging provision for our older children on site. Meet and Greet is considered a huge social occasion within the club where the children can share their experiences and news with each other freely. Homework and mindfulness zones are available and encouraged daily to allow for more focused quiet spaces when needed.

The children also have the freedom to engage in a vast range of social activities such as cooking, wood work, electronics kit, giant straws, table top games and other STEM opportunities. Our children also have access to the school’s Pet Corner, sports field and large sand pit.

Parent access to the club

Visitors to The Gap Club Ltd must park on the surrounding roads or in the Corby Drive car park when dropping off. They are not authorised to park within the school’s staff car park during drop off time. To access The Gap Club Ltd. visitors need to enter via the metal gates at the back of the car park and follow the signs to the year 4 block. Please look out for our directional signs which are secured to the fences.
